MAMMILLARIA GUELZOWIANA

 

These cacti have probably the most stunning bloom of all in its genus, it has large bright magenta/pink flowers which frow through its soft fury surface, this cactus also has small yellow hooked spines on its surface. Its natural home is in Mexico. 

 

Bloom on this plant is during the months of late spring early/mid summer.

 

These plants are fast growing cacti in the right conditions but is prone to rot if watered too much, soil must be extreamly dry from previous water before watering again.

 

These cacti requires full sun to partial shade can grow to around about 6inches The Mammillaria Guelzowiana should really be kept frost free but may survive a brief cold snap of no lower than -3 as lon as it is kept dry and out of direct frost contact. 

 

Propagation from dividing the offsets that cluster on this plant and also by seeds if left to dry on plant after flowering before storage.
