CROWN OF THORNS (EUPHORBIA MILII)
Euphorbia Milii commonly known as the Crown Of Thorns plant due to is stem being covered in large thorns is a common import from Madagascar.
This plant has an impressive bloom which can come in many colours from red, pink, white and more, the blooms are fairly small in proportion to the size of the plant. The bloom can last all year round providing there is enough light for the plant.
let the soil dry about an inch or two down before watering again, if left to completely dry out the leaves will fall of but after a good watering the leaves will grow back after 3-4 weeks.
This plant likes to be kept in full sun to part shade, for best results and best bloom then full sun is required, ideal growing temperature is in the reagion of 24C-32C.
Propagation of this plant is by taking a cutting of a live branch, remove all but 1-2 of the leaves on the cutting, dip the cutting in hot water to stem the sap from leaking and spray the cutting on the mother plant with water to help seal it, dip 2 inches of the cutting into rooting hormone powder and place in a pot filled with multipurpose compost and place the plant in a bright indirect sunlight position.
