RUDBECKIA HIRTA 'CHERRY BRANDY'
The Rubeckia Hirta a very robust plants and have great garden performance, producing a huge amount of eye catching, cherry-coloured blooms all summer long resisting intense heat, drought conditions and poor quality soil.
This plant looks particularly good when planted in drifts in borders or can be planted in large containers to create a feature plant on a patio or terrace.
The Rudbeckia Hirta will flower from around June through to October time dependin on frosts later in the flowering season. This plant likes condition of partial shade to full direct sun.
Start sowing the seed on the surface of good, well drained compost. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost. Place container in a propagator or covered container and place at a temperature of 60F-80F. After germination which will take around 7-21 days keep in bright locations for example a south facing windowsill of greenhouse
Separate seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or pots giving space for further growth, spread about 3in apart. once big enough to be planted outside, slowly acclimatise plants to cooler outdoors conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, The Rudbeckia Hirta will grow to about the height of around 50cm tall and a spread of about 30cm. Keep well watered until established in final growing and flowering position. This plant is native to Eastern and Central America.
