MARIGOLDS

Marigolds are a very common garden plant that just explodes with colour during the summer months. These Flowers are easy to grow from seed by just simply placing seeds on into a multi purpose compost and keep warm, moist and in full daylight in late spring, within2 weeks growth will be noticable.

 

Once plants are around an inch or so tall they need to be separated and placed 2-3 inches apart until ready for planting out in summer. 

 

The Marigold needs full sun and plenty of water during the dry summer periods to guarentee great colours and long flowering periods. The flowers are daisy like and are of orange to yellow in colour, each plant usually has multiple flowers at any one time.

Make sure to deadhead the Marigolds regularly for continued flowering late into autumn.

 

Once the flowers have gone over simply leave to dry and remove the seeds a for the following year and keep dry in a dark place.
