DRACAENA MARGINATA
The Dracaena Marginata is a very robust and tolerant house plant that has an effective presence in any room. this plant grows on one long stem eventually having shoots into more if cut to stop it growing streight up, the leave are long and thin and there are many of them, this plant is a very nice dark green colour with a tint of red around the edges and towards the end. The leaves will requre dusting every couple of months or so to allow the plant to breath and remain healthy.
Growing habits of this plant are intesnse growth in late spring and summer if house plant feed is used then this plant will look very healthy indeed, water on a regular basis not allowing to dry out, this plant can tollerate dryness but will be visible in the leaves ans will become droopy and thin. do not place in full sun as it is a bit too intesnse for this plant, plant enjoys part shade but good light (early morning or evening sun) water less during winter months, once a month or when dry will be fine.
Propagation of this plant is by cutting, cutting a stem off this plant and using a rooting hormone this plant will root quickly and continue growing. you can cut all stems off the main stem and the plant wil continue to come back to life with new shoots, take cuttings as close to main stem as possible.
