CORNFLOWER 'THE BRIDE'

 

The Cornflower 'The Bride' is an easy to grow annual plant with large, sweet scented flowers with the purest white colour. This stunning white cornflower is perfect for cutting for flower arrangments and makes a lovely plant for filling gaps in summer borders. This plant has a growing height of about 60cm and a spread of about 30cm.

Growing conditions for this plant is quite simple to achieve, simply Pot up the Cornflower plants using good draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When Cornflower plants are big enough to plant in borders, beds, pots or containers, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting outdoors on well draining soil in full sun. Cornflowers dislikes root disturbance so take care to avoid disturbing the roots too much during planting. Water well in full sunlight and trim plant back after flowering to stop the plant becoming leggy. Flowering period is from May through to July, this plant is a hardy annual so can be sown in early spring where you would like them to germinate.
