Carrot Plants
Carrot plants are a popular root vegetable plant and easy to grow, not requiring much room to grow. They are tolerant to pests and diseases and are able to survive frost as can be planted to be a late season harvest, varieties can vary and vary in colour with some orange, purple to white.
Plant seeds indoors 3-5 weeks before the last frost in spring, make sure soil is free of stones and is deep so carrots can grow further down and bigger.
Once plants are and inch tall this out so they are around 3inch apart, snip the leaves of the ones to get rid of as pulling may damage the roots of other plants near by.
Make sure plants are kept weeded and water 1inch per week, Carrot plants require full sun for best results. Can fertilize Carrots 5-6 weeks after sowing,
Harvest Carrots after the first 2 hard frosts of fall as this makes the carrots taste much better.
