ENCYCLOPLANTS
AUBRIETA
The Aubrieta plant is a Perennial plant but must be moved into a cold frame or sheltered form frost during winter months. Aubrieta plants come in a variety of colours and shades, and have large flowers. These plants make for brilliant early spring colour for rockeries, borders, containers and windowboxes.
These plants cascade and spread quickly.
Sow seeds between Febuary and June or for winter germination between September and October, for winter germination protect from frost.
Place seeds on the surface of well drained soil or compost and cover wi th a fine sprinkling of compost, suggest using a sift. cover with glass or polythene and place in a sunny warm location and keep moist, Seed germination takes between 14-21 days.
Once the plants are large enough to handle, transplant into trays evenly spaced apart and allow to grow in cooler conditions before planting outside, plant in to a full sun location.
The Aubrieta is native to European Mountains
