AGAVE VICTORIAE-REGINAE 'PORCUPINE'
This succulent is a beautifully symmetrical plant only frowing to no more than 1ft tall making this a great container plant for the garden or a wonderful houseplant in a conservetory or living room. This plant has thick leaves and spines coming from the end of the leaves which gives it the nickname 'Porcupine'.these plants are very slow growers taking 5-10 years to reach full size and up to 15 years to begin blooming.
This Agave is best grown in full sun and well drained soil will be ok in part shade tho, do not allow plant to sit in water with wet soil as rot will take hold. Not very cold hardy so needs to be protected from frost, do not water during the winter months if in a cold location and only once a month in in a light warm location where growth will still occur.
Blooms can be impressive with up to 15ft stalks with tightly held yellow flowers.
Propagation of this plant is from seed which will take a while as it grows so slowly and also by off-sets produced next to the parent plant.
