AGAVE AMERICANA
The Agave Americanais a common Agave in warmer climates such as southern California and make very good landscaping plants but also good for potted indoor plants. In landscapes the Agave Americana can exceed 6 feet in height and diameter forming rossettes with extreamly sharp leaf tips, The leafs have a blue/green colour with white stripes.
The bloom of this plant may take decades to happen and appears on a large stal. The bloom only happens once and then the plant will die, this is also how the plant gets the nickname century plant.
Keep moist in the drier conditions and in full sun, protected from winter frosts to avoid damage.
Although this plant will die after its bloom it puts out offsets which can be propogated to continue having this plant.
